About PinDownloader

A small browser tool for saving the videos, GIFs, and images that are already public on Pinterest.

What we built

PinDownloader turns a link to a public Pinterest pin into a short list of the files behind it: the MP4 video, the animated GIF, or the image in each size Pinterest keeps. You can preview the pin, pick a file, and hand it to your browser's download manager without an account, an app, or an extension.

The tool has one job. It isn't a Pinterest client, a media library, a reposting service, or a way to see private content.

How it works

  1. You paste the link to one public pin.
  2. Our server reads that pin's public page and finds the media files Pinterest serves for it.
  3. When you choose a file, it's streamed from Pinterest through our download proxy straight to your browser.

Quality comes from Pinterest. We can list and label the files we find, but we don't upscale, re-encode, or add a watermark.

Scope and limits

  • Only public pins are supported. Secret boards and private accounts stay private.
  • Deleted pins can't be recovered.
  • Logos or text inside a creator's video or image are left untouched.
  • Pinterest changes its site from time to time, which can break lookups until we update the tool.

How it stays free

PinDownloader is free to use and needs no account. Ads from Google AdSense help pay for hosting, and Google Analytics shows us which pages and features people use, so we know what to fix and improve. Neither one sees the files you download, which are streamed rather than stored.

The privacy policy explains exactly what reaches our server, which cookies are used, and how to opt out of personalized ads.

Independence

PinDownloader is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Pinterest, Inc. Pinterest is a trademark of its owner and is used here only to describe what the tool works with.

Use public media responsibly

A public pin isn't permission to reuse someone's work. Rights stay with the creator, and it's up to you to get permission before reposting or using media commercially. Please read the terms of use before using downloaded files for anything beyond personal viewing.
